# MPM2D Homework – 2015-09-23

We reviewed linear equations a little more today. You practised finding the equation of a line using the graph.

We remembered that for an equation in the form $y=mx+b$ we have a slope of $m$ and a $y$-intercept of $b$. $m=\frac{\text{rise}}{\text{run}}=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}$ given two points on the line. Once we know the slope, we can substitute values in for $x$ and $y$ using a known point, then solve the equation for $b$.

We practised on these graphs: Graphs of lines – find equations

For homework I asked you to complete the first two parts of this activity, as much as you are able. Come to see me before school or at lunch if you need help: Plotting Points and Finding Linear Equations
