MPM2D Homework – 2015-09-23

We reviewed linear equations a little more today. You practised finding the equation of a line using the graph.

We remembered that for an equation in the form y=mx+b we have a slope of m and a y -intercept of b. m=\frac{\text{rise}}{\text{run}}=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} given two points on the line. Once we know the slope, we can substitute values in for x and y using a known point, then solve the equation for b.

We practised on these graphs: Graphs of lines – find equations

For homework I asked you to complete the first two parts of this activity, as much as you are able. Come to see me before school or at lunch if you need help: Plotting Points and Finding Linear Equations
