# MPM1D Practising with linear equations 2016-05-16

We spent the period reviewing our skills for finding linear equations:

Linear Equations

Determining the slope-y-intercept form

Then I handed out a bunch of practice sheets from the web:

http://www.mathworksheets4kids.com/straight-lines/point-slope-1.pdf

http://www.mathworksheets4kids.com/slope/2point-formula3.pdf

http://www.mathworksheets4kids.com/straight-lines/two-point-formula.pdf

The answers for the equation sheets are written in Standard Form, which we’ll learn tomorrow. Here are the answers in slope-y-intercept ($y=mx+b$) form:

Point-Slope Worksheet:

$y=x-1$

$y=3x-9$

$y=-2x-4$

$y=-5x-1$

$y=-3x$

$y=-5$

$y=-2x+6$

$y=6x+24$

Two-Point Formula Worksheet:

$y=-\frac{1}{2}x+\frac{11}{2}$

$y=3x+3$

$y=-x$

$x=5$ (this isn’t slope-y-intercept form, because the slope is undefined)

$y=-x-9$

$y=-3$
