MPM1D Practising with linear equations 2016-05-16

We spent the period reviewing our skills for finding linear equations:

Linear Equations

Determining the slope-y-intercept form

Then I handed out a bunch of practice sheets from the web:

http://www.mathworksheets4kids.com/slope/2point-formula3.pdf

http://www.mathworksheets4kids.com/straight-lines/two-point-formula.pdf

The answers for the equation sheets are written in Standard Form, which we’ll learn tomorrow. Here are the answers in slope-y-intercept (y=mx+b ) form:

Point-Slope Worksheet:

y=x-1

y=3x-9

y=-2x-4

y=-5x-1

y=-3x

y=-5

y=-2x+6

y=6x+24

Two-Point Formula Worksheet:

y=-\frac{1}{2}x+\frac{11}{2}

y=3x+3

y=-x

x=5 (this isn’t slope-y-intercept form, because the slope is undefined)

y=-x-9

y=-3
