MDM4U Combinations 2017-09-14

We continued learning about Combinations today:

The number of combinations of r items from a set of n unique items is

P(n,r)\div r! = _nC_r=C(n,r)=\binom{n}{r}=\frac{n!}{r!(n-r)!}

We spent some time on Pascal’s Triangle as well, which is a neat structure full of combinations.

Homework today is page 279 #12, 13, 18. See you tomorrow!
